Tayaupá (Our Father Sun)

Meaning print: Tatewari the old fire god, he ordered the sun to rule the earth. Tayaupá, Sun blamed for this job four sacred deer; Kauyumarie, east, Ushikuikawe in the south, Watemukame, Narihuame in the West and in the North (four figures with comamento on top).
Through a hole in a stone physician placed on the temple wall, Tayaupá can see the world and its light rays enter the temple bringing fertility to all gente.Cada year Huichol pilgrims travel to the eastern desert where the sun was born to collect and through sacred cactus "hikuri" (deer-shaped plant) of many ceremonies ensure the welfare of all people and animals.
